Arsenal were in the title race until the last 5 games of last season, and have improved significantly in the summer, whilst United and Chelsea have stayed still.

Bit presumptuous to rule them out

Arsenal's problem is they did not improve in the area that they had to - keeper. And imo they need a WC DM in the middle of the park.

The title, in the end, will be between united and Chelsea. Yesterday was a good result for united. I bet you that come May, the title will be between united and Chelsea. Arsenal have no decent keepers, Liverpool... well nothing more needs to be said, and we don't have the capability of a title charge just yet, not until this squad has a season with its manager at least. Drawing at home to Blackburn, losing away to Sunderland and beating Chelsea prove that. When the performance v Chelsea happens on a regular, league dominating basis, thats when comments like Keys' yesterday will become something to slag off. As it stands though, it will be between Chelsea and United.

we will be pushing for the title
Experience will be the key mate, in my opinion. Fast forward to 2012, when this squad and its less-fancy additions have gelled, and I think we will dominate not just English football, but European football too. Yesterday we were awesome, getting yesterday to happen regularly though, and for us to be more lethal in front of goal, will be the key to that English/Euro domination happening. This season though, I think it will be the old guard again who are challenging. We will finish 3rd.

I disagree, I think their style of football doesn't need a physical DM.

Almunia isn't really a bad keeper, it wasn't that long ago that the media was talking him up for England, but one mistake and he's suddenly shit.

Arsenal's biggest problem was the lack of a number 9, which they seem to have addressed this season.

With Koscienhy (?) at centre half they don't stand a chance.

While I agree with most of this, would you have been happier, or had a different outlook, with 4 points from the 3 games if we had beat Blackburn, drew against Sunderland and lost 1-0 yesterday? I can see us being in touch for most of the season but falling just short. Personally, I think next year will be the one where we put in a sustained challenge for the title.

Good point, but the fact we upped our game v the big boy yesterday, yet failed to do so v the other 2, shows we are not ready for the title charge yet. I know teams can't perform great all the time, I know that, but we upped our performance v Liverpool, (which I know wasn't hard to do), and again yesterday. When we get that performance out of the squad on an average league game v, for example, Sunderland, thats when we will not just win this league, but win it at a canter. Our squad is the best in Europe in my opinion, its just a matter of turning that into the best team in Europe, but it looks we are well on our way.

Hmmm... what a surprise. You bigging up the rags again, and dismissing City.

I see a pattern emerging.

What about Wigan - that was an average league game wasn't it and we did ok there?

Precisely, the inconsistency of a title winning team isn't there yet. Thats my whole point.

Soulboy - eat shit. ;-)!!!
