Forza Mancini.

It isn't just us to be fair. I pissed myself laughing at some old clown on GMR on Saturday. He rang in to castigate the modern player because in his day they used to work down the pit the night before and walk to the ground. He finished by castigating Match of the Day for being anti-Bolton.
I listened to that rather vertiginous dialogue, too.
As for Micah, as mentioned earlier, I'm not condoning speaking to the press on any matter, especially one which infers criticism upon the manager. My issue here is with those who are reacting overwhelmingly disproportionate to the quotes in question. Since joining the forum, people have made it clear that they have some sort of brooding, unfathomable dislike for Richards, and none more so than in this topic is it evident.
I've spoken to Micah a few times and, as he says in the interview, he really does love City. In fact, it wouldn't be too surprising if he came across this topic. With all the new faces coming in now, I think it's necessary to retain an established local identity, even if that means he is on the bench. Some forget that he is still very young and, as much as I like Nedum, he's nowhere near as good as Micah. It's interesting then that Nedum's critical comments on live TV are mitigated by the forum whereas Richards's lead to the most brutal harangue.
Now, I'm not saying that Richards is, at the minute, worthy of a starting place as Zabaleta has done nothing to lose it. But I definitely believe that he offers the squad something, hence his selection, and excellent performance in the game against Arsenal. The point I'm trying to make is that he has a big part in our future, and you should show him the same tolerance that you've shown Onuoha, Balotelli and even Adebayor. Some of the comments on here are pretty shameful.
johnmc said:Yes that selection you state would have been vindicated.
We went, no matter what spin you put on it, to get a point. We got a point.
Its the same as this weekend in the cup - you could argue that Adebayor should play for eg. But he plays Jo. We win. Therefore the team that he picked did its job whether you agreed with the selection or not..
You can't say we could have won with Johnson as we equally could have lost or even drew the same as we did. We will never know.
Mancini targeted a point and got a point. Selection vindicated.

GStar said:I've give reasons why i think i could have been, you've just pointed at the result. A selection isn't vindicated simply down the result, if Jo had missed an open goal from 2 yards out, got sent off and then Arsenal had, had a perfectly good goal ruled out therefore drawning 0-0, because we got the result, every players selection is vindicated?
It's not that black and white imo.
On the other hand:

DC makes a valid point, perhaps that's why Jo got the nod.
johnmc said:Well i personally think that the result is vindicated or otherwise by the result. If 11 kids play against Leicester and we win is that selection the right one?
codespyder said:Micah should rot on the bench for a good while after this interview. His early England caps went right to his head. He has to learn to work for the club first, and the national team will come later.
The way he makes it sound is that he'd be glad to wind up in a mid-table team just to play for England. If I were him, I'd be more content in playing a smaller role in a team that'll win a trophy instead of playing a major role on a crap team.
On a different note, it'd be hilarious if Mancini started giving SWP and AJ more playing time after this interview.

I will come on here and slate any player for gobbing off to the press, I don't like and find it unprofessional. However I am sick of the stereotypes bandied around on here that only apply to a minority with this "you slagged Micah off so therefore you're a paranoid anti-media anti-non city fan weirdo and I will tell you you are just because you won't defend Micah".
If you're going to play that game, then it's not hard for me to judge that some of you, as per usual, are using this to have another dig at Mancini, like it's his fault that Micah's unhappy at ONLY playing 19 times this season.
It's pathetic.
