Richards

I agree with you based on his previous form. If he keeps today's form up and improves it then I would think otherwise.
Even if he continued in the same vein as today he should not be in the team, we know how he can play every week, and today is not a patch on what he is capable of. He won't keep Zab out of right back and he won't keep Ned out of Centre Back so he should be sat on the bench until he sorts himself out

This
Hes not a patch on the M Richards that played in last years derby at eastlands

both Bridge and Richards have struggled this season. Ball and Garrido struggled before Bridge too. Zaba is the only full back who has performed consistently well (in midfield)

It's strange that our full backs seem to be constantly under pressure.

If Richards keeps improving then I don't see a reason to keep him out. Granted he has been practically useless most of the season though. Dunne played loads better today and made some vital saves. Onouha did well and almost grabbed himself another goal.

Ireland ... seemed to be down there helping out with the defence quite a bit didnt he though?

SWP back against West Ham?

He was better, but still let the cross come in for the goal - again. If he was going 100 miles an hour and still couldnt block the cross then fair enough, but he was jogging.

i think its the
midfield this season were playing higher up the park backs overlaping better going forward but does put us under pressure when we lose posession defended lot deeper last year imo

there were 3 people responsible for the goal today not just richards....yes he fails to cut out the initial cross.....but so does dunne before it even gets to torres (who is being marked by ned)....then bridge allows kuyt to get goal side of him (though again he could have been wrong footed by the defelction/miskick of torres)

richards had a good game......its noticeable that people pick up on the one thing that wasnt so ggod and ignore the countless blocks challenges and a clearance of the line in the first half as well

i dont think people an in all seriousness doubt his cxommitment after today....he put his body on the line a number of times.

people need to remember that he is only young.....all (young) players have dips in form......rooney went through one earlier this season as well.

he needs our backing not people jumping on every chance to criticise.........richards will be part of the team that MH wants to build to challenge the top 4......he is good enough and he is still very very young....

Micah actually played better in the first half when the team was under constant pressure. I recall one headed clearance he made which would have otherwise led to a definite Liverpool goal. As for SWP he has only missed two games I believe so he will be missing at Upton Park. Mind you, the same team which played at Anfield should excel down there, especially as Bellamy loves scoring against former team mates.

not sure where he will fit into the team when everyone is fit and available plus i think we may well be in the market for another centre half in the summer.

Pretty sure Kompany and De Jong will play in midfield so Im guessing Zabaleta goes to right back so at present its 2 from ned micah and Dunnie, at present that leaves Micah struggling, and we all know its a matter of time before Berti comes good!

Richards was improved a bit today, Bridge was fucking shite though.
