I think im in a minority but I rate richards highly. Fully fit he pushes zab for me. I prefer him to sagna.

Not in the minority at all

I have something called a memory and he was pivotal in the 2012 season

Great player ,I remember threads on here slagging off the England manager for not picking him
In 2012 I would have agreed with you fully, in fact anyone who disagreed would have been lampooned for being an idiot. However it's 2 years on and along with his well documented injuries he's gone backwards while Zabaleta has improved. Maybe given a seasons full of games with no injuries he may get some of his talents back but he's 26 now, no longer a kid. And Sagnan is as good as Richards was 2 years ago, he's nowhere near him now.

I remember Gareth Barry being quality in 2012 as well, can we bring him back :)

£72,000 a week, and he has been very badly advised by choosing to penny-pinch over his representation these last couple years.

Not sure on the stats, but it seems like three out of the last five where he has failed to make it past half-time, more because of how bad he has played rather than injury.

His dad represented him didn't he? Heard he was a proper rasta (how true I don't know)

His dad is called Lincoln and they both have had a rep for upsetting a few agents/groups in recent years.

The flip side is family members are able to represent and pocket the fee an agent would normally broker.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that, as long as any player get the right advice.

The problem with any player doing this, I suspect, is that family tends to avoid a few home truths.

Seen a few parents think there lad is the best thing since Pele, and are totally unrealistic about what they deserve.

Micah has done what few of us can only but dream. He is also a very rich young man. He is to be congratulated for making the best of what he has.

My own opinion is that he got in on the ground floor, when we were shit, and he was paid out of kilter in relation to his talent, because we were so grateful to have a prospect, any prospect.

Our rate of progress and level of understanding, as to what it takes to be successful, on the field, has just caught up with him.

Hope he gets sorted.

He should do a brochure like Micheal Owen. Clubs would be biting his hand off.

Oooh, great idea.

Think they are both very similar bill both need to play in a 3 but would say garcia is better positionally as a holder tho barry could get around the pitch a little better! As for micah he's city thro and thro so hope he has a good career else where ss long as he does not join the rags.

Barry was perrenially underrated. It will hurt to see Micah pull on another shirt, regardless of whose it is. Will always have a place in my heart for him. On the flip side, it will almost be a relief to see him get a long run of matches and show what he is. The lad deserves it. If he was up against anyone else but the mountain lion that is PabZab, it might be worth it to hang on. As it is, he must go and I wish him only the best.

He's gone backwards & City have moved on .... Basically being paid a lot of money for being on the Physio table and apearing in vids on CityTV .... No room for sentiment I'm afraid. IMO was very lucky to have been offered a new contract and a fool to turn it down. Its going to be a struggle for him to ressurect his career ....

I cant see many,if any....wanting to take the chance. He could very easily become a very expensive mistake for a potential buyer.

He may have to negotiate a deal somewhere that,in order to prove his fitness, may even be pay as you play type.

If they're watching the last 10 mins of this Liverpool game he'll deffo have no takers!!!!

Looks like a Gareth Barry type deal is the only option imho. No club is daft enough to buy him in his current form.

Gareth Barry went on the back of a good season I think we'll be lucky if any interest at all comes in for Richards ....

True,

If City want to sell him, they need to show him off at Centre Half, because he doesn't have the skill or defensive abilities to be a full back in 2014. He can jump and head the ball, and he can sprint against the best of 'me, but when he heads off down the wing, it is always a question of

A) will he get the ball stuck under his feet and end up with it just bouncing away from him, or

B) will someone tackle him and he will fling himself over them as if shot out of a cannon, or

C) will he simply "run, Forrest, run" himself to the touch line and give the team no end product?

Whichever it is, we all know one thing.....when he does lose the ball, he will not track (sprint) back into position to make sure he does his main job.
