Rick Holden

Slower than a snail, would often beat the full back only to be faced with him again inside 5 yards... Played a blinder away at Coventry once, 0-2 down and tricky went to work on them... comedy 2-3 win...

Na na naaa na, na na naaaaa na, wheyyyy oh, its Ricky Holden

Absolute shite, though went wild when he scored the winner in extra time in the league cup v Bristol rovers at bath, same night the announcer called Gary flitcroft 'Gary flipflop' as he came on as sub

Before the new Kippax was built I used to prefer not staying in one place so I stayed at pitch level and walked up and down the length of the Kippax, where possible, depending on the crowd. There were times when I could overtake Ricky Holden as he was working his way down the wing. He always had his mouth wide open as if he was gasping for air. He looked slow, over weight. But when he got to the corner flag he, more often than not beat his man and got the cross in. I remember Holden with affection.

I thought I was fat and slow until I saw Ricky Holden made me feel annorexic.

One of the worst games I saw him in was at Sheffield United away we won 1-0 and not one of that hippy twats crosses got near Nial Quinn so much so he had to keep going and doing the useless gits job!

Leave it out you set of twats....
Well said - I saw Ric Holden play at Wembley in 1990 for Latics in the Littlewoods Cup Final and come to think of it didn't he play there again in the 1994 F A Cup semi final.

He was a great winger at Oldham who put his cross in on the run before needing to beat the fullback.

I think he was out of his depth at City.

We used to joke that he ran in slow motion
