Joe Cortez kept stopping the fight and limiting Ricky's bodyshots which ultimately played into Mayweather's hands.
I really believe that he could have won that fight without those interruptions.
 
That left hook to the body of Castillo. Some punches you just remember. The way he just went forehead to forehead with him and traded body shots.

The nights staying up to watch him round my mates house, drinking till 5am (for those of us who couldn't afford Vegas trips!).

He was one of us.

And as an aside he hit Mayweather with a lovely shot in the 6th and Cortez fell for every trick. Strangely he was the ref for Castillo and just let them both work inside all the time. The referees a wanker...

Cortez didn't let him work and rough up Mayweather, as he would have liked to. And Cortez was also the one who "froze" and let Mayweather get that sucker punch on Victor Ortiz.

I'm still in shock about Ricky, for this happen just after the dust settled with Canelo Crawford was eerie.

RIP Champ, condolences go out to his family, especially Campbell. 46 years old, far too young.

He got Eubank to boil himself down to a skeleton and wanted to sneak a Roided up Benn into the ring against him to take his head off. the actions of a **** in my mind wouldn’t you say?

Not a chance.

Mayweather is right up there when it comes to GOAT .
He is definitely in the top 3 for me and his defence was the very best.
Nobody ever got near him in his whole career.

Whilst I agree, you only have to look at the way the fight was refereed.
It was a joke. Ricky needed to get up close and smother Mayweather, but every time he got in that position Cortez intervened.
Hatton's corner could see what was happening.

Would Ricky have won the fight had he been allowed to fight his own fight? Probably not. But he'd have stood a much better chance.
Mayweather was class but he was treated like an endangered species by the refs.

Eubanks naturally the way bigger man, Benn is Eddie's fighter obviously he will look to make a fight that benefits him. Not sure why that makes him a ****. Eubank won anyway and took loads of clean shots to do it so he can't have been that compromised in there.

Agree I live down south so never saw Ricky but like Oasis flew the flag for Manchester and City.
It was great to know that the world champion was from my home City and such a lovely down the earth lad.

I feel his loss like nothing before regarding people I dont know. I still wake up wondering 'why Ricky'.

We stayed in the Premier Inn in Hyde after a game and my lad was so hoping Ricky would pop in. Sadly he didnt.

Still difficult to believe he has gone .

I'm not disputing how good Mayweather was, my point was that if Ricky had been able to get some big bodyshots away it could have ended differently, we'll never know.

Eubank Jr’s weight in his previous 4 fights to Benn were:

vs Kamil Szeremeta = 159.3/4lbs
vs Liam Smith = 159.1/4lbs
vs Liam Smith = 159lbs
vs Liam Williams = 160lbs

Alot less than what he was allowed under the first Benn match, where he was allowed to rehydrate upto 170 on fight night.

So no. Eubank is a known bull shitter who still beat Benn (who weighed under 157 pounds for the fight)

Benn was cleared of all allegations btw
