Rico Lewis | Set to sign a new 5-year contract (pg33)

Hmmmm I find Lewis most likely due to his age inconsistent, once he get older he’ll become more consistent in his game ..
Should we sell him that’s not up to me let the powers at be decides that,I’d like him to stay as he’s City through and through but football is a funny old game..

Yesterday justified us rejecting a bid at the reported level. Still not convinced he's a full back, but that's fine as we're known to play without those rare creatures.

The way he bursts into the box and set up Haaland shows intelligence and ability rare at such an age, he's home grown, club trained, and worth more to us that forest reportedly bid. Something that drives me mad about Akanji, despite his admittedly superior experience, physicality, height and pace, is that he can be read like a book at right back, palace at Wembley being a good example. Rico is the opposite, he'll start and help finish a move with intent, moving the ball any number of ways before almost sneaking into the box - he's a progressive full back.

If Gvardiol is fit then maybe he doesn't play and Stones moves across, but Pep played him in our opening game despite having other options, which I'd take as a sign that Pep wants him to stay also. I think it'd take a bid of £40-50m for us to even consider selling.

Absokutely critical that we don't sell Rico. That run and cross for the first goal was top class. And Rico looks to do that when he plays. That's critical to breaking down packed defences. To have a player with strong defensive attributes but who can also make runs like that into the opponents box is hugely important.

Do not sell him City.

Bottom line it’s up to Lewis if he is happy to be a squad player? We know pep likes him and probably wants to keep him! How does Lewis know if he goes to Forest and end up playing similar amount of games as with us?

He was very good yesterday and I would like him to stay, however, he started off last season in good form and then struggled. I don't think he will be a regular starter, but if he is prepared to fight for his place I would keep him.

Rico will always be fine against the likes of Wolves, it’s the dippers, arse, psg and the likes he will be found out .
Exactly. Seen someone saying that he „ finally „ played in his position. Literally the same positions he’s been playing every time.

Agree but we know if player wants to go he goes if we get the fee we want
Have to ask why he wants to go.

Pep doenst give assurances but it’s between him and Nunes for RB, a great game yesterday he could be the starter for us.

Is it about wages? I’m not sure. Forest reportedly offering him double but we also want him to sign a new deal so if he stays he’ll be on that money give or take.

Is it about playing in midfield? That we certainly can’t offer him much at the moment.
