Right back options……

The centre halves we have are ideal for a team playing with 3 at the back and wing backs.
With us needing replacements for both full backs, I'd be keen to bring in players who can play at wing back.
Frimpong would fit on the right.

If we don’t have a youngster who can receive and pass the ball, overlap every now and then, and put in a tackle every now and then, what DO we have at the Academy?

Thought it was poor of Pep to comment about the Academy players on the bench as he did, too. They’ll never get better, and no-one will ever know what they might be able to do if we never give them the chance.

If not now, when we are decimated, when?

He's never impressed me, plus, as an American, I would caution against purchasing American players. Skill levels not there, which if true, may be because the development "system" here consists of colleges (18 to 21 year olds). Other than Pulisic, are there really any worthwhile USA players? Hopefully, Cavan Sullivan will be, but he should endeavor to get to NYCFC and then Euro-based CFG outposts as quickly as possible.

He was born in Milton Keynes, raised in Liverpool, was a youth player at Everton from age 11 and played at Bolton, Wigan & Fulham - don't think he's touched any development system in the states. Fair enough if you don't like him as a player but not sure anything else is applicable.

One of my old colleagues is a Wigan fan - he told me about Robinson and Reece James when they had them, so I kept an eye out. Personally think he's very solid defensively, quite fast and has popped up in attack more over the past couple of seasons. A good profile and could do the Walker role on the left.

Watching the amount of time and space walker gives opponents before trying to actually catch them now just goes to show how fast he really was as he'd always catch them and take it off them with fair ease before.

Vanderson for me would be the main target, he may not be as attacking and exciting as Frimpong but he's stronger defensively and jsut more well rounded.... so if we are gonna persist with a back 4 he works better

Don't think Monaco would charge a kings ransom, seen some reports for €25mil which worst case I guess could be as high as £30mil, well in our range

Likewise Fiorentina are apparently in financial trouble, looks like Kayode could be available for £20mil or less. He's still raw but he's athletic and probably even better defensively than Vanderson

Dumfries is a potential option but he'll wait till summer and likely will have a lot of suitors so hard to wait around for him, also he's primarily a RWB from what I know of him

All seems moot though as the club doesn't sound they they are targeting a RB, especially given Walker nor Rico are close to leaving

Singo at Monaco worth a shout as well. Dumfries just signed a new deal .

No idea. At the other end of the spectrum, we played Ipswich Town on August 24th and were 3-1 up in 16 minutes. We then squandered chance after chance after chance before we finally went 4-1 up in the 88th minute, at which point we brought McAtee and Nunes on. Mainstays were playing meaningless minutes for 72 minutes, and players can miss chance after chance because there is nobody breathing down their neck. All a little too uncomfortably comfortable.
