Right back options

I think this is the first transfer thread I’ve seen where more people say we need a new one, without naming anyone, than named suggestions.

Worth bearing in mind that there are very few realistic acquisitions around that make a significant long term improvement on what we already have whether we like it or not.

Not so sure. He's got some great attributes, but don't see him as a nailed on RB.
Remember what he was like there in a functioning team…England call ups and a lot of City fans’ favourite player.

I’m not giving up on him quite yet particularly at the age he is. We will see.

Ill take an El Hilali, Fernandes or Livramento

Me neither, and I think he could be a handy little player for us. A top notch RB will give so much extra stability to the defence, just not sure who it should be though.

I'm starting to come round to this way of thinking. I'd like us to get Livramento but I think the deal will just be too difficult to do, might have been a different story had Newcastle not qualified for the Champions League next season.

Alternatives to him based on reports and snippets on here seem to consist of Wesley, Malo Gusto and the boy from Porto all of whom would obviously take up a non-HG spot. I can't see us pushing one of our current non-HG lot out of the door for one of the aforementioned three given none of them are the finished article so to speak. I can see us going into the season with our RB options being made up of Nunes, Khusanov, Lewis and Akanji (in no particular order) based on the above. The alternative to that may be someone like Gray at Tottenham who TH has mentioned on here before, could be eased into the RB position as a long term option and wouldn't impact the HG rules.

For the record, I like Ryerson at Dortmund who at 27 could certainly do a job for three seasons but again I can't see us losing one of our current non-HG lot for someone to fill a squad position.

Gusto would be another good shout mate.

Sadly Nunes, Lewis & Akanji aren't 'realistic' options either if that term also means top level. Khusanov might get there but it seems he's been a stranger to the flank in his career so far.

If its a stopgap. It has to be homegrown. So its Aina. If its not homegrown then it has to be a long-term prospect and Fernandez, (is a lock at this point in my mind) as there is interest, he is super young, and his potential and production are on point.

I like the tape of the Sildihlia kid. But i'd like to see his stat comparison. There is also Deyvine Rensch from Roma who's statistical analysis in crossing and chance creation is also top notch (Also from Nobbin's video).

There are some options, but of all the good ones we've been linked to only Fernandez.

Aina a good shout to be fair but no links. TH I think said a few months ago we were looking at him but no developments since.

Watched Ryerson yesterday. He was decent. But nothing we cant get out if ,Nunes/Rico.

I want either special talent, special potential or just stick to what we've got.

I want the Right back version of Nuno Mendez 4 years ago. Back when he was just a young phenom but everyone could see he'd be special.

Ironically enough, the only player in Europe right now whom I rate at that level Mendes showed 4 years ago is another portugese player... Martim Fernandes.

Why does portugal make all the best fullbacks? Weird.
