Again, I'd agree he messed up the fundamentals of team defending bon the first goal, as he should not have gone out to challenge Munoz so early, but Gonzo should have been tracking Saha anyway.I'm sorry I have to disagree. He was a fish out of water . Bailed out by 2 goals we got . Hopefully he can get a run in midfield soon as the talent is there .
That said, he would have gotten the fist chance we created if Maca's cross hadn't been too high. created the 2nd attack with a cross that almost found Mcatee. Put a block in on Munoz cross that Mateta misjudged. That was all on the first 6 minutes.
On the goal, he circled to the middle, where he had 2 attackers on his side, as soon as Eze passed the ball back to the middle from the left side, he circled outside Saha to be closer to his man, Munoz, but Gvardiol didn't get tight on Saha...
In the end it was good football from Palace, but lots of that was on Josko.
about 5 minutes later the exact same scenario occured again, but this time Gvardiol tracked Saha better and blocked the cross that bounced harmlessly to Eddy
This is not to say he didn't commit so e errors he did, but a closer watch of the game suggests a lot different than the narrative
