Nunes seems to have made progress at right back tbf
Nunes is tainted by that derby disaster, every time I see his face I get PTSDDumfries doesn't have the technical ability to play fullback in our system.
He is sorta like Frimpong at Leverkusen, virtually no involvement in the buildup.
Just a run up the field and attempt to quickly do something in the final 3rd, and is also strong aerially. Very low pass% and overall passes from fbref show this.
Whereas Nunes shows what a Pep fullback is required to do, high pass%, passes attempted and progressive passes while also attacking.
Nunes is crazy underrated on here, and has lately been somewhat of a barometer for me in terms of what posters clearly know nothing about football in terms of player development.
The fact we look so bad without Nunes playing tells me everything about how good he is, and why we need a proper RB backup on that side that is similar to him.
Im not sure we will find a suitable RB tbh, which is why I would rather use the 316 system and get Khusanov to learn it rather than be forced to see Akanji there.
Agree. Nunes is gone once we get a top quality full back. Would Madrid or Barcelona play Nunes at FB? No chance. We've got to aim higher.Funnily, I think the same about people who claim.that Nunes is a good right back.
Hes a decent winger that we are forced to play at RB due to lack of suitable options and will be immediately sold once we fix the squad deficiencies
If he did Pep probably wouldn’t be interested in him.Just looked at a Dumfries video. All goals and assists. Does he defend?
Nope, probably worse on the ball than Kyle tooJust looked at a Dumfries video. All goals and assists. Does he defend?
while that is true, ask yourself how positive you would feel despite this improvement with him starting against the scousers, or against top quality CL opposition....Nunes seems to have made progress at right back tbf
Sounds like the press trying to rustle up a bit of attention.Lots of rumours around Dumfries. Does it warrant it's own thread yet?
That would require another Foreign player to depart on top of the 4 we already need gone.Lots of rumours around Dumfries. Does it warrant it's own thread yet?
Rarely. Typical wingback.Just looked at a Dumfries video. All goals and assists. Does he defend?
No, he was on loan to Valladolid and Sporting when he was with usbit of a random one, and we haven't been linked to him,
But could Pedro Porro be an option for an HG RB?
I know he was on the books here for a period and I don't know if he would qualify as HG or club trained.
But could that solve the problem?

I don't think City will sign Livramento. I rate him highly but I don't see why Newcastle would let him go.Agree. Nunes is gone once we get a top quality full back. Would Madrid or Barcelona play Nunes at FB? No chance. We've got to aim higher.
When you look at PSG with Hakimi, Madrid with TAA, Barcelona with Kounde and Arsenal with Timber. We've got to bring in Livramento. Can't keep playing players who "do a job", we need specialists if we want to win the top prizes again. Can't cut any corners.
nowhere near good enough to be a right back for a title challenging teamNunes seems to have made progress at right back tbf
Did we not win the Premier League title 4 years in a row without a recognised left back?nowhere near good enough to be a right back for a title challenging team
Only ever played in a back five at a high level, still, he’s top drawer.Just looked at a Dumfries video. All goals and assists. Does he defend?
