If the club were to sell Rico we seem to be looking at a HG option with a bit more pace and physicality. This kid is athletic in a way neither Rico or Nunes is (although the latter does have some speed).

So sell Rico and buy a completely unproven youngster, who won’t play - just to fill the HG slot?

Whilst at the same time getting rid of someone who is good enough, that we have produced. That makes sense

We did but at least the CBs and midfielders we played there had some idea how to defend and the CBs inside them wee at their peak.

Spurs have Porro & Spence. Both are miles better than what we currently have. If they're interested in Savinho then I'd be asking for one of them as part of the deal

Not if we play him as an inverted full back.

Couto had a great year at Girona, played incredibly well against most teams and got humiliated by Vini.

Almost like what some on here will say about Lewis - good against most, cant be relied upon against the very best.

Porro has developed into a good player - Pep openly said a few years ago he didnt think be was a back 4 full back and had to operate in a back 5, feel like we messed up on that one.

I was adding humour mate as that is the usual comment on here . As for me I like the simple things shot stopper keeoer trad defenders and left and right back a destroyer in mid and fast wingers a good creative mid and good forwards who put the ball in the net . Give me a good 442 any day of the week . Football is not that hard if you get the easy things right .

To be honest I think Pep should stop fucking about and just play Khusanov at RB.

As someone said Kyle was one of the most important players during our success laden era and he was never the best footballer. But he offered safety.

Khus with Stones Gvardiol and Ait Nouri looks decent. Obviously our LB will provide attacking width with the 3 CBs channelling across. Such is Khusanov's pace it could allow Stones to enter into midfield too.

We had delph at one point who was a physical beast - does that description fit any of out fullbacksoptions for right back at present?

We had a better midfield and better wingers who pinned the other team back - does any of that fit our present midfield options when Rodri isnt there

We had Kyle walker whose pace covered the whole back line and was in his prime - can anyone else do this (Khusonov can but he aint being played) - the moment he fell of a cliff was when some of our problems started n

All of those missing and now our defenders cant cope as they arent good enough in the fullback positions (especially at right back)

Rico has a role as a squad option against shite teams. Should be nowhere near starting 11 in a game against a top side.

It's not just that he's not a FB but he's being asked to play multiple positions in the same game. No wonder he's struggling.

If Pep is going to persist with this then one of the CBs has to be Khusanov.
