Right back options

It’s been a decent window but the worry is the he direction we go in and prod reluctance to change which is gonna really fuck us . As for right back that is astounding that a club of our status cannot get one over the line but I think it’s more to do with pep and his tinkering .
Something weird about our full back situation in general. Ait- Nouri is our first proper left back since Mendy, how long has that taken. If that's anything to go by, we might not sign another right back for a few more seasons yet

It is odd as we have the set up squad wise for Pep to employ his 3-5-2 or 3-5-1-1 set up he used to get he best out of lewandowski, wwith no fullbacks which alt-nueri and nunes/lewis wpuld suit better but he seems to resist and when we do play 3 CBs one inverts to midfield completely messing the system.

-----------------------trafford------------------
------Khush-----Stones------Joskso---
---RWB-------Rodri/Nico-----Ait-Nueri
--------Cherki/Foden----Reinjinder----
-------------------Marmoush-----------------
----------------------Haaland------------------

Solid 5/6 when defending and aggressive 6 when attacking.

If we keep playing 4 at the back and inverting then we need a solid RB not a make shift,

looks like where not getting a rb so that's the perfect team for nunes to play in proper defenders and he can get up the pitch where hes been a real handfull dippers played trenty at rb for years not a great defender then they bought frimpong who was a winger

i think Viana is still trying to clear house before starting to shop

Ederson, Ortega, Akanji, Ake, Gundogan, Nunes, Savio are up in the air

also non-main squad are still up in the air - Kabore, Phillips, JWE etc
Kabore has looked ok at Rightback on his loans. Can we not just keep him?

I'm mildly surprised how well Nunes comes out if you look at his numbers and comparables at full back.

Suggests there really might be something there. Probably needs a few games (and definitely no inverting) but it wouldn't shock me if the data guys and scouts rate Nunes a bit higher at RB than some on this forum.

I still think Livramento would be my preferred upgrade but I think it does demonstrate why shouts to buy just basically any RB are wide of the mark.

Yeah if he gets better at passing, crossing, blocking and intercepting he could be a decent back up for Nunes.
True we have the best players everywhere who sit on the bench for either Lewis or are deemed not good enough despite being the BEST.

That's an impressively strawy straw man that.

We're exclusively comparing Nunes and Timber.

If i was saying I'd take Nunes over Hakimi or Kounde then it'd be daft, sure.

But I'm not sure just calling for literally any right back in the academy, Fresneda or Kabore is going to improve the situation over Nunes or Rico.
