Right back options

Walker, Zinchenko and Cancelo was working very well on the pitch. I sometimes think that we might have managed the Pep/ Cancelo situation better but don't really know the full story.
Porro, Couto and Kabore only getting as far as the Etihad canteen is also a weird one.
Kabore was at the Afcon last week and Porro and Couto are both in CL teams.
Does seem odd, this reluctance to have fullbacks. I would mind if he went back to the last few weeks of the treble season and banged 4 CH’s across the back. The suicidal high line would disappear and you’d have people who have an understanding of defending.

Having two fit centre backs, never mind four, would be great!

It doesn’t ignore how exceptional those midfields were. It does the opposite and it shows how far the standards have dropped.
I don’t think it’s a standard drop at City. It’s more the quality of midfielders has declined. Ten years ago the likes of Bellingham and Rice would have been called road runners at best but now they’re being talked about like Ballon d’or candidates.

Rice and Bellingham would be a much better midfield than Gonzalez and a 67 year old Bernardo. You could even throw Lewis in and it wouldn’t touch the sides.

Ye can never understand estimate desire. Hes never gonna be a CM for us though but what a transformation for rb. Then again he fits the prototype for a wing back
Quite right but that is not all of it, if we move him back to mid, we create another Phillips, a player not good enough for us but on too high a wage for anybody else, whilst losing what maybe the best RWB in the league, my own view is he sees his contract out at RWB and then we look about for somebody better if there is one, if not keep him on a rolling contract.

Definitely, he has earned the right to say its his spot now, unless a legitimate high quality signing is available id just stick to a young high potential prospect to back him up for now

Would people take Trent from Madrid in the summer? Stranger things have happened. Not much stranger albeit!
