The way they advertise on Talk Sport (I know!) winds me up. An actor reading a tale of how after coming back from the shops the house was burgled and how upsetting it was to see the kids room trashed but now he has peace of mind.....scare tactics

That raises another issue in the nanny state we live in. I know commercial properties have to display a notice about CCTV but what about domestically. Technically I suppose someone on your driveway uninvited classes as trespass?

It comes with a couple of window stickers stating that audio and video recording is happening so I guess there could be something in this

No issues at all if the camera captures footage within the boundaries of your house and garden only. Not really an issue if it goes beyond that either, just imposes some fairly minimal responsibilities on the owner of the system

It's great you have a record of everyone coming and going to your house, times etc. Wanted visitors or unwanted visitors.

You can communicate with delivery drivers if your not in.

I've got Blink cameras as well they are great

That is really all they are good for. Suspicious spouses and people who get deliveries a lot. As a burglar deterrent they are totally pointless

Always makes me laugh on the marketing...scumbag rings doorbell, you tell them to fuck off, it's not had to relate with a video bell that therefore the house is probably empty.

We had a Hive fitted to my mums and apart from constant notifications of cats, large birds and postmen it turned out to be a pain in the arse...gave it up in the end, sometimes it was almost straight away and other times it took ages. Nowt like the adverts though.......

I have a camera on the front porch that is pointed at my front door that sends an alarm to my phone.
The only time I use it is when my mate comes over and I can say, "Fuck off Louie, you fat ****" through the speaker.
Now that Louie has moved to Greece I have pulled the batteries out. : (

My mum had dementia and used to wander off into the houses down the road so we sort of needed it but when you're driving and the phone beeps or whatever it did, used to drive me mad, pull over , check phone, watch video, ask mum over the speaker if she's alright....Absolutely hilarious as this confused the poor woman no end as she thought the walls were talking to her. Gave up and pulled the plug after a few months

Has any you got one ? When someone rings the bell your meant to be notified pretty instantly on your phone.
Well not ours it doesnt. Theres a delay of about 20 seconds sometimes longer. Nothing like the TV advert .
By the time youve answered the person ringing the bell has gone. Anyone else have the same problem?

Imo you should be banned from BM for having one.

It wont deter them unless they know they're being watched. Then when you've let them know they're being watched they'll nick the camera. And then your car......
