Not a dig at any political parties as they are all as bad as each other and all live on a different planet to the rest of us.
I actually shouted at the TV this morning after hearing her.
Scoffed at suggestions that people caught up in the riots and lost everything have said the army should get involved.
Then said "lessons need to be learned", a typical political copy and paste reponse. Then said communities need to work with the police and if they know anyone who looted to inform the police. WTF, does she think that is going to happen, seriously?

Then banged on about why kids at 10 years old were rioting and when asked if the parents should be charges came back with the softly softly approach of "no we need to work with them to understands why thier kids are out".

Sick of the softly softly approach, it does not work.
The rioters know fuck all will happen to them. Time to take of the kids gloves and treat them like the scum they are. Issue warnings rioters will be shot, a few bullets to the heads of those leaving a looted shop holding Tv's will get the message across. Lets then see how many turn up for future riots, knowing a zero tolerence approach could cost them thier lives.

The 450 arrested so far, lets see proper prison terms dished out but you know this wont happen. be a soft 200 hour community sentence, with a small fine that they can pay back at 20 pence a week from thier benefits.

being brought up in west belfast i am always shocked at the british police and how they police a riot....especially in the capital. if they were miners then the police might actually be let off the lead and knock a few heads.....but 30 years of liberalism and i cannot tell police from social workers to be honest.

Plastic bullets, tear gas, water cannons, baton rounds, taser guns - the UK sell all these things to other countries and really should see this as an opportunity to product test.

The liberal media, especailly BBC cry out for action but scream when anything too rough or a violation of human rights is put forward....

courts will not deal with this....prison are full as most are like hotels and people not bothered at going to prison and getting xbox, SKY and a gym with 3 good meals a day....

as outsider i can say that the UK Police are a laughing stock to world, but not their fault.

We will soon separate the girls from the boys (and my apologies to the women on this Forum!). Some of these teens will soon find out what a smart mouth and bad attitude will get you in a green uniform.

Also, ANYONE who can be tracked down through the camera footage should be dealt with particularly harshly as a deterrent to the rest of the ASBO crowd.

As if we did not already know, it makes you wonder for the future of the country when you see 11 year olds being arrested for rioting!!

Not to disagree with your sentiments about the police regarding the riots and how they've maintained a largely dignified stance but if it was football related you can bet your life that they wouldn't be quite so reserved - the TAU would be straight into them and whacking pretty much everyone in sight, with plenty of innocent fans getting cracked for good measure.

I've not seen the Holmes interview but you know someone hasn't got a clue if they're getting owned by him. And for there not to be any water cannons on the British mainland beggars belief.

It seems that whenever something out of the ordinary happens in this country, the government of the time haven't got a clue how to deal with it.
