Riots in Manchester city centre (not Salford)

30 years of liberalism, human rights and a criminal justice system modelled on Butlins.....the Police hurt anyone and they go to prison, lose their job and home....a teacher restrains a pupil the same thing....these kids are the second generation brought up in this culture.

If you mix in "I want it now" "X factor" culture with and the "world owes me" along with a no propspects future what does society expect?

TBH it is not real rioting.....more like "urban fashion looting" ... not one petrol bomb has hit a policeman and I have seen no use of blast bombs, nail bombs, catapaults with ball bearings and decent barricades....not to mention any firearms...

One we have x factor back on telly it will settle down....send in Simon Cowell, thats what I say...

Consequently, the Police action can be more, ahem, confrontational... and no one will complain.

i think its inevitable that Manchester will do its best tonight to have a riot... The young people have been shown all day what has happened down south.. Its their turn tonight..

I don't understand this.

Market Street is piss easy to close off. They could have set police cars at either end and stopped them getting in... or they could close it off after and trap all the fuckers!

Just got home from town after work...Windows being smashed...Loads of people (well over 100) started running down Market Street towards Piccadilly Gardens. Was like being in Gotham City!!!
