Sad sad news, such a funny man, that disapproving look he used to give people (the one where he’d sort of scrunch his mouth to the side and look at the camera open eyed) used to crease me up every time, to me, the sign of a true comedy genius when you can just pull a face with no words needed as a retort.
Glad to see so many comments and recognition of Sir Les Patterson on here too, one of his lesser known characters I’d say, but equally as funny, if not more so, than Dame Edna, maybe it’s my age group but have known and worked with a few blokes like that back in the 70s and 80s, who I found equally hilarious.
