Met him a couple of times- he was great company.

I first chatted with Bill on here in 2008 when I was living in South Africa.

I said I fancied just jumping on a plane to catch a game so he said do it, I will be in Mary D’s waiting for you with a ticket and guess what, I rocked up and he was there, with Sue and with my ticket.

That summed the man up.

Bought a carpet at his shop many moons ago and you could tell straight away he was a top man with a great personality. His family must be so proud to read all these posts.

Didn't know him and didn't really cross paths too much, but it's obvious from that kind of guy he was and how highly he is held in regards, that's he's the kind of person that made you proud to be a blue.

Rest in peace, hoping there's a big comfy sofa in the sky for you to rest up on and watch the game today.

Don’t think I ever met him - but “know” him as a cracking poster and mod on here for years. You can tell he’s hugely respected and loved around here so Rest in Peace Bill (de Niro)

PS may have known him as a youth if he ever went to the disco at Belle Vue and school nearby (Central ?)
