RIP Clem Burke

Was never into Blondie, great early tunes but not punk enough for me and when the disco fused Heart Of Glass and even worse The Tide Is High hit the charts I knew I was on the right road.
However, this song I loved - and still do. A killer bass line Peter Hook would have loved to have written, and behind that Clem keeping it all together in time on the sticks.
I saw Blondie for the first time 3 years ago at a festival in LA (like you do) though it was only Debbie and Clem as original members. Glen Matlock was filling in for Chris Stein who was ill. Actually, I saw them twice as it was the same line up both days.
RIP

City should run out to -
"Union City Blue" each game.

I loved "Rapture", along with Fab Five Freddie obviously.
And thought Clem's drumming was excellent on"Dreaming".
RIP Clem.
I agree with you about Union City Blues, I've never understood how we haven't put a song to it yet. Saw Blondie last summer at Halifax Piece Hall and thought they were brilliant. Clem was up there with some of the best drummers in the rock world and it's another sad loss.

RIP for the legendary Blondie drummer Clem Burke who has passed away at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer.
One of my favourite drummer's, his energy and power gave Blondie that unique sound, he will be sadly missed.
So gutted and hear hear about his energy and power.

The drumming on heart of glass still gives me butterflies to this day, don't know why but it's the only song I know where I rewind it to 2mins 35secs just to hear the drums and I've probably done that for as long as I can remember.

Only 70 as well.

So sad.

A great drummer, 70 isn't old these days, rest in peace.
For those who.like Blondie this young lady does a decent tribute act. She's moving back to the UK after nine years in Tenerife and is in Manchester in May.
