They always thought they could get one over on Columbo. Look at him tapping cigar ash all over the Persian rug. Little did they know, he was on to them.

Genuinely gutted, always remember a film where they brought all the major sleuths out to solve a crime, Poirot, Miss Marple, Holmes etc etc, Columbo solved it, I think that sums up what a truly great character Peter Falk had created and moulded himself into. R.I.P.

Yeah, the beauty of Columbo was watching him grind down the suspects with his scrupulous glass eye for detail and sheer dogged mither. We knew the bastards were guilty all along. We knew the result, but it was all about watching Columbo play the game. A great series in its prime and a sad loss.
