Sad news. Was a top player and one of the Premier Leagues iconic foreign imports.

Was a good friend of Mancini's too wasn't he?

I'll join in any arranged celebration of his life on Sunday should Chelsea fans look to arrange one.

Remember routing for him and Samdoria at the wembley CL final when they just lost to Barca in 1992 - Vialli, Mancini and Lombardo was a great side.

It was, an iconic kit & some cool players (ignoring a few dodgy barnets). I didn't know at that point that Baldy would end up being our main man so I was very much in the Sampdoria camp at the time; the next season C4 started doing Football Italia which I absolutely loved.
