RIP Neil Peart

He was the best drummer I've ever heard. Grew up on Rush --they were one of the first bands I saw live. Maybe now that I'm old I prefer a somewhat less self-indulgent approach to music, but the the guy was phenomenally talented and completely unique.

You are and will be greatly missed, oh Spirit of Radio.

Been listening to them since I was about ten (circa 1977), my big brother had all their albums. Saw Rush live at the MEN Arena, 2004

Saw them in the 70"s, Cheap trick was the back up band. Neil was one hell of a precision drummer and one of a kind.

Just heard aboot it on here myself. Huge band when I first moved over here they were all anyone talked about.
We used to go and watch them every new years eve at Maple Leaf gardens with Max Webster backing them up.
The boy could play.

Read a good book of his about his motorcycle journey around the US and Canada.. a sabbatical to help him deal with his wife’s death

I still have it if anybody wants to read it.. I can hand it over at the next home game

Very sad news.

I was lucky enough to attend the opening show of the last Rush tour in 2015. So glad I went that night now looking back.
