RIP Pele (p9)

The Greatest. The Ali of football.
Agreed, funny thing is, and maybe what a lot of the younger generations miss, because you had to feel it too, is how much of a global icon he was even back then, when I was a kid, Pele was so well thought of and talked about around the world, the amount of attention he got wouldn’t look out of place even by today’s social media standards.

Think whilst Messi and Maradona were better players, there was a certain romance and popularity around Pele that I’ve never really experienced since with any other player, your mother, your sister, your dog, your cat, literally EVERYBODY, whether they liked football or not, seemed to love him, we know the end is coming and we all hope it’s swift and pain free, but there’ll be generations of people who his passing will genuinely affect.
