RIP Tony Book

This is a very sad day. What a great man and we were lucky to have him as our player, captain and manager.

RIP Skip. Nothing but good memories of you.

If anyone at city deserves a statue it’s this man.
Or stand named after him.
The Book End has a good ring to it

RIP Tony
Thanks for everything

Lovely bloke. Had the privilege of chatting to him in a London pub prior to the Palace game in 1979. A journo asked came in and asked him if it was true if City bought Michael Robinson without knowing he had fractured his skull heading the crossbar in his last match for Preston - Tony jumped up, led him to quiet corner of the bar where they engaged in earnest conversation - never saw any report of that rumour in the press but I think it was true.

Very sad indeed. Rest in peace Tony Book, a club legend as a player, captain manager, coach and mentor. A legend in every sense.
