When she came onto the pitch, the lad who sits next to me in East level 3 said 'she goes to my gym'.

Obviously I laughed, but he told me that Vera and a mate went to the gym on a regular basis, set the treadmill to a slow walk speed and both did about 15 - 20 minutes on it.

Because he was wearing a City shirt one day, they all got talking and she has seen us play at Hyde Road, Maine Road and now the Etihad. 'I wish they'd stop bloody moving so often' she said.

They did go to the gym - twice a week.

What a shame she couldn't get into the see the boys one last time, but 90 years, what a rollercoaster she's been on!

Very sad news. RIP Vera. A fair chance she was at the famous 1934 Stoke match. There can't be many (if any) of that 84,000 crowd still with us.
