...As you are pressing the issue, let me explain. You are playing with words. It's vital that we insist on a common sense approach and clear language. Now, common sense says that children arriving on small boats can said to be the children of small boats. This means their legal parents are the small boats on which they arrived. Which proves they, themselves, are small boats. Not the other way around. As such, our plan is such cases will be dealt with in the same manner as all other small boats arriving at this country - we will moore them at Portsmouth harbour, with a view to repurposing them as fishing vessels.
