Rishi Sunak

Really bigging up illegal migration as a massive prob when it is nothing of the sort , one trick pony , he knows it will get the racists and brexiteers going although the second group should be thinking you have made things worse since 2019 , kick the **** out ffs

It’s the regularity in which he uses them too. His argument is time constraints rather than security reasons though.

They’re from a private company, the RAF don’t use them for their own use.

These helicopters are fitted with the secure communications that a sitting PM would require tbf. Like I said, I think they are from 658 squadron AAC that are primarily used by the SAS but I might be wrong on that?

I get it, we just need clarity on what it costs us.

Secure communications eh?
He could just send some WhatsApps - they seem to disappear from prying eyes quite quickly and conveniently.

No they’re from a private company that the RAF maintain and operate for the use of VIPs. It’s ran out of Northolt, it’s not the SAS.

I’m not averse to him requiring it, just not as often as he does and at that expense. Wallace recommended scrapping the current contract and going to a more cost effective solution, Schapps then reversed it.

I find it quite ironic that Rishi is talking about the immigration issue as destabilising the west. As though his hands are tied.

Just had a Google and you’re correct, cheers.

What is it that is destabilising Britain?

Is it the 40,000 asylum seekers coming across on boats?

Or is it the one million immigrants with visas issued by the Government? (700.000 net after emigration.)

Or is this just a load of bollocks to get votes from xenophobes and racists?

If it's a real problem why is the Government issuing so many visas?

Up in front of the Liaison committee - this may be awkward.

Concern about Cameron not being available as much: "but Labour had 1-2" - I bet they weren't one of the 'great offices' though.

was cutting the aid budget right?

"well the Commons passed it"
"what I'd like to know is what the Labour party think" - yes, really. This is the committee heads he's talking to.

And now he's arguing that he's not making a policy statement. He is making a policy statement.

Talking time out again... and he almost succeeded in doing it on the 2nd person. Happily the chair relented.
"it's the PM's fault for not answering my questions" is blunt!

He's annoyed the Home Affairs chair by not answering questions.
How is removing the asylum backlog going? "the year's not over yet"
You don't have any planes for Rwanda? "I'm confident it'll happen"

Comparing the returns agreement with Albania with the Rwanda policy, claiming it's a deterrent.
*
Hillier (Public Accounts Chair)... this could be TETCHY!

Ouch, that was messy. Hillier did not like false comparisons one bit. The obfuscation made Sunak pretty much say that it was a matter of scale that the extra 100m+ for Rwanda was kept quiet. Annoying the PAC is dumb dumb politics.

Managed two mins and wanted to kick the tv in , he is so fucking false and out of his depth as well as unelected !

I had a half-hour break which helped.
Gone back and he's talking about Gordon Brown having introduced something that Sunak wants to talk about, and getting argumentative about.

The Liaison committee hated Johnson's waffle and carelessness, and they'll hate this just as much. He's annoying nearly all of them, and getting very party-political.
