I suddenly thought that I had seen him somewhere before and I could not remember where. Did he throw his hat in the ring to be Mayor of Manchester because there was a programme on Granada a few years back where the candidates were asked questions about what they could bring to the table. One of them was a miniscule Asian chap that took obfuscation to a new level. My question is was it the Prime Miniature or another waste of space?
 
The figures in that poll are astonishing. Albeit, we may be 12 months from a GE and things can shift. But 49% is a very rare level of support. It's almost a majority.

The Tories' highest level of support at a GE was 49.7% in 1955.

Labour's record was 48.8% in 1951. Ironically, due to the bent FPTP system, the Tories won that GE!

But the key figure is 21% for the Tories. If they really got that, they would be shredded.
