Rishi Sunak

Why is it being reported in the press, given that it concerns a nephew of the PM and it’s of no relevance at all to the UK ?

You know I’m beginning to think you’re not just acting stupid.

As you already know, Possible gifts of 8 figures worth of shares to the PM and his immediate family are obviously valid concerns of the British public. The nephews 22m gift is being reported because it raises the valid question of whether the PMs children were gifted the same.

Do I need to go into why the public has an interest in 20m gifts to politicians families?

I wonder what percentage base that is of the new government contracts that InfoSys got?

The contracts awarded to Infosys by the UK public sector are well publicised and available for all to see. I presume that’s what you’re getting at, although it’s difficult to tell what your point is most of the time, if you actually have one that is. The other possibility of course - perhaps the most likely - is that you just want to engage in a bit of politics of envy when the issue of no relevance to the UK.

So, again, why would a rich bloke giving money to one of his grandchildren, which happens all the time right around the world, be a legitimate concern to you? Why is that, or what the PM’s children were or weren’t given by their grandfather, a valid concern to the UK public?

Also, if you think it is a valid concern for people here, why did you ask the question that you did? “Can you point to where anyone says NR Narayana Murthy can't do what he wants with his money?”. A bit odd, but not surprising given your form.

Oh well that’s easy, no one has ever said Murray can’t give whoever he wants money so you’re pathetic little “does he have to run it past you first” comment was, as per, you fighting the voices in your head.

As for the rest and politics of envy, no, I just think the taxpayers and voters should know if the Prime Ministers children recently got gifted £40m worth of stock in a company with extensive UK government contracts.

The contracts are public, no one ever said they weren’t, how much Sunak’s family owns of the company that has those government contracts is not public if it’s hidden via gifts to his children, which he doesn’t have to declare.

Voices in my head. Pot. Kettle. Black.

The run it past you comment was to the original poster who seemed horrified at the prospect of a grandfather in another country giving a fraction of his wealth to one of his grandchildren. So nothing to concern you.

As for the ‘extensive UK government contracts’, I think you need to get in the real world. Infosys have been given contracts of about £60m quid over the past decade - basically nothing and a minute percentage of the company’s turnover - and their one of scores of suppliers who have been placed on an approved supplier list for other future contracts. Like scores of other companies, because that’s what they do. There’s zero evidence of any preferential treatment and it’s simply an example of envy and hating people because they happened to marry a woman who comes from a wealthy family.
