I can only assume he is going long coz
1/ he is being implored by colleagues to hold out so they can drain was much out of the system as they can
2/ I think Brady met him to tell them there is no credible new leader anyway
3/ he is basically being propped up to take the blame for a local elections wipe out
They know they are fucking themselves over spectacularly - the number of by-elections is wiping out a majority and most occur because of them being total twats anyway - the current crop who are standing down don't give a fuck about the hopefuls being picked to stand in their stead and I suspect the majority won't even help in canvassing and the 2019 intake are the worst ever - every one makes Pvte Walker look like a proper upstanding citizen and not a spiv
