I was worried he was a boring but safe technician who might make the Tories look capable after the lunacy of Truss and Bozo. Thought he might reclaim some of the middle ground and force Starmer to appear a bit of a lefty. Instead he has gone full gammon (with added chips and HP sauce) and has done it with no substance, conviction or public appeal .

He has brilliantly managed to lose votes to both Labour and Reform
