So the UK has given more military aid to Ukraine than any other country barr the states and we/he doesn't matter any more?

Like it or not we are a diminished entity in this world. We have made ourselves difficult to trade with and its about to get worse when the full checks come in at the end of the year - our self governance over the last 2-3 years has been that of a banana republic, its difficult to deal with a govt who chops and changes itself so often you cannot build up a rapport with your opposite number before they are toppled by a scandal - shrinking economy - rising debt and biggest rise in the cost of Govt borrowing in the G7. Sunak suffers from all that especially the fact that come the end of the summer recess he may not be in post either....... how can they treat him seriously.

If they meet those demands they probably think they’re doing a good job and don’t care a jot about the general population, rules, laws, common decency, spouting lies, not showing up to parliament, getting grilled and being shown up to be inept but sitting there grinning…

Not sure about that. This government have done very little well… almost nothing well… but they eve been excellent around the invasion of Ukraine.

Maybe we are a diminished entity when Canada wants to buy whisky from us but we aren’t when it comes to this. The Ukrainian army has been coming here to train to fight Russia and we are up there with providing them with the most arms in Europe.

If this govt had run it’s own country with the quality they’ve helped out Ukraine, they’d have been a great govt. Zelensky has been very impressed with the aid they’ve received from us.

Anybody who thinks the Tories are supporting Ukraine as a genuine act of support are absolutely bonkers - this government does nothing for anyone or anything unless it has a benefit to them - it’s merely another distraction like Covid , the “boat people” and Brexit for them to hide behind - their performance has been appalling and shambolic and Johnson, Truss and Sunak should hang their heads in shame, they are in every way political criminals.

Quick question - agreeing to meet independent paybodies recommendations - does that also fix schools and hospitals in danger of collapse? Will it get more/newer scanners into the NHS? Will it retains teachers in work and stop newly trained doctors from going to Australia?

Doesn’t fix them but at least a bit of good news for some workers in the pay review - there was a recent separate announcement around the hospitals (NHP), for example one hospital my daughter is going to be working as a midwife at (just trained) has just been given go ahead to be rebuilt on the existing site. Sadly it’s in a poor state of repair (one of those in danger of collapse and roof being propped up in places) and won’t be completely for another 7 years. And no, it’s not good enough that they have got in to that state before you ask, not good enough at all.

I love how we have supported Ukraine but following on from earlier posters on Action man’s 5 promises

Remember his stirring words in Jan 23

And anyone remember the nasty parties election pledges in 2019?

Maybe they have a pandemic sized excuse card for some but social care reform and world class public services!!!!

Its all forgotten like Johnson’s (2022) promises…..40 new hospitals, extra funding for the NHS with 50,000 more nurses and 50 million more GP appointments per year. And as a nod to law and order 20,000 more police officers in England and Wales by March 2023. Northern Powerhouse support, levelling up, funding the train route between Manchester and Leeds…. you could go on and on.

Who, with a sound and rational mind could believe a word these fuckers say.
