Rival Fans Commentating on City Games

The most unprofessional thing I witnessed didn't even involve us . it was when united beat Arsenal last season early in the season and Gary Neville was on co-commentary and he was literally screaming and cheering down the microphone when they've scored.

I understand he is a united fan and people get caught up in it but you're being paid to do a job and you should do a professionally

They're a disgrace
Robbie Savages "look at the neck muscles" scream a couple of seasons back when Ronaldo scored a header in the Europa will probably haunt me to the grave

stopped paying for Sky at end of 2018/19 season and told Sky that was down to Carragher and his unprofessionalism, when asked for examples i pointed out that he wore a rag shirt ahead of the Manchester derby but it was the one the day of the Leicester game when Vinny scored that goal, him & Neville wore walking round the Etihad hours before kick off and walked into Legends lounge to which Carragher shouted "theres nobody in there" before laughing, Neville looked kind of embarrassed for him

As long as you would have though it a clear penalty had it being given against us that's fine.
I would have hated it. and I would have hated the way Carragher justified it as "The chelsea player couldnt jump at the crucial point so penalty for me, yeah its weak but it IS a penalty.

There are usually multiple points of view of everything. Carraghers ALWAYS is against us in those situations where its fifty/fifty. Every time (Unless it doesnt matter)

And I listened to other commentary too. They said "well spotted by the ref" on that. The narrative is and is always set by our rivals fan pundits. They want Fernandinho stopped, then tell everyone he commits fouls, raise the profile of that. They think it wasnt handball by Gomez just ignore it and concentrate on the lfc goal. I find them slyly divisive.

We seem to get City players who aren't really City fans. Richards and Sturridge for example yesterday.
They're both Arsenal fans, I believe. Part of the problem is that most of the people involved, such as Neville, Carragher, and Richards, are not content to be just analysts. Instead, they want to be personalities as well, and so they have to pander to a certain audience to remain relevant. I always mute matches and never watch their 'banter' anyway, so I suspect I'm not their target demographic, thankfully.

if only Var was just used to highlight shithousery it would stamp out a lot of the thuggery, feigning injury, head-rubbing when no contact, surrounding and abusing refs #mufc, cynical deliberate fouls etc, the game would be better for all(except vested interests)

I did little bits of fan zone work for Sports Tonight Live but I think my hatred of certain clubs would make it too hard to be neutral-ish even if I was there as a Blue.
