Not impressed at all so far. Hasn’t made the transition despite lots of opportunity. I know a Leicester fan quite well that labelled him lazy before the transfer. Unfortunately I think he was correct. Is behind Raz and Leroy in effectiveness, hard work anD attitude. Can’t see him getting far unless he really steps up a gear.

I am gonna get slated. But he can be a bit of a one trick pony imo.

And stop moaning.

Embarrassing writing off of a player on here as usual. Same with Mendy, same with Sterling last year, same with Bernardo last year, same with Sane the year before that. Etc etc etc.

He hasn't been anywhere near as poor as people are making out either. He's had some very good games as well as some not so good games. It's his first season at the club, it's expected.

City fans have urged many of our transfer targets to do the same in order to push through a move to us.

Now it's being used as something to hold against Mahrez?!

I’ve not urged any City target to go on strike to force a move so can’t speak for City fans in general. You don’t disrespect the club that is currently paying your wages by not turning up for training.

If Mahrez is that passionate he wants to be here by forcing a move from Leicester why don’t we see him busting a gut on the field? For the money we payed for him he should be starting or at least pushing Sane or Sterling, I’ve seen nothing in his body language or decision making on the pitch. It’s telling when he is being left out completely that something is wrong.

So in summary:
A journalist has tweeted he’s not happy
The journalist hasn’t provided any quotes
We’re happy if he isn’t happy to be benched
We don’t care if we felt the same previously about Sterling, Sané and B Silva
If he misplaces a single pass tonight his thread will grow by 20+ pages
If he doesn’t score at least 5 tonight we want him sold ASAP

Must be hard for a player used to being a regular in a first team to suddenly become a bit part player. He's still got to learn Pep's way which takes some doing, especially if you're not getting a load of match time. He's not going to get in front of Sane and Sterling at the minute but he's a good squad player to have, it's up to him to force his way into the team, just like every other player.

The fee has nothing to do with him,it shouldn't be held over his head,he is scoring and assisting fine and adjusting to a different style of play,as has been pointed out there are no quotes and it's normal to want to play not sit on the bench
Honest question karen, why do you think he didnt travel to Huddersfield ?

Normal BM fare

Sam Lee gets more wrong than right these days People just like him because he actually reports on us. There are no quotes and he's just winding up blues with this. I think he's a prick.

Which is a bit sad and hopefully very premature to write him off this early.

I’ve said it before, he’s a £60m signing in the current marketplace. The fee is kind of irrelevant.

Sane and Sterling are currently easily worth DOUBLE that.

He’s been signed to provide competition and I’m sure it was hoped he would move up to a new level of performance. That’s not happened (yet) but ala Bernardo he might just get with the Pep Program and become an integral part of the squad.

I hope he does because he has fantastic ability.

Head up Riyad lad, and prove the doubters wrong!

To add, there is nothing in the article suggesting Riyad has said or done anything major. That said, Pep has made a statement with his actions, it’s up to Riyad to respond in the right fashion.

In my day that would be adopting a “I’ll fucking show you” attitude in training and on the pitch.

I didn't write him off, I just read the posts and tbh, although I'm not a big fan of Mahrez especially based on his performances to date I was a little surprised at the amount of posters who haven't been impressed by him.

Sorry but I dont think the fee is irrelevant either. City have spent a significant portion of their seasons budget on Mahrez. He needs to start performing.
