Just so people know I’m not bandwagon jumping I said before we signed him that this was a poor decision by the Club. Firstly we didn’t need another winger. We have lots of them. Secondly, he was never worth the money we apparently paid for him. For the same or less money we could have bought a top class defensive midfielder, which is what we really needed (and still do). He doesn’t bring much to this side. He is very predictable, he can’t tackle (in fact he’s a bit of a coward in the tackle). His distribution is poor and he doesn’t score enough goals.

I know hinchcliffe made him MoTM today but if we’re honest he was very poor again. I don’t think Pep has any confidence in him, and for good reason in my opinion.

Pep also said that Otamendi is unhappy about his lack of playing time. I understand his, and Mahrez’s concerns, but the truth is they are squad players and there are better players ahead of them in the pecking order.

This. He’s gone from being the main man to having to fight for a place. And even then, he has to get used to rotation. I believe he will be v important for us.

My only issue with him is that he’s a complete shithouse when it comes to challenging for headers like he doesn’t even try to win a header even when he’s got the jump on the opposing player challenging him, almost like he’s scared to head the ball, everything else should come within time with him.

TBH, I'm not that arsed who has said what either, but I do think it's harsh that a piece like this has provoked a pretty nasty response from some of our own fans towards one of our players. I mean FFS someone said they wanted the guy stoning to death in this thread this afternoon.

My response earlier today are much milder, and pro mahrez but the you cannot criticise brigade have been out since and elicit a more negative response on my part tbf.
I don't mind mahrez, but he is 3rd choice winger because he should be on form.
