Riyad Mahrez - 2018/2019 performances

Although Mahrez cannot be considered a disastrous buy it's clear that he hasn't contributed many crucial performances to date. The disturbing thing for me is that after over half a season at the club and with having years of experience of the PL he is showing absolutely no signs of improvement and he still doesnt fit into the team ethic.

There are at least two things he could do to improve in my view and they are work harder (he is one of our laziest players) and also mix his play up (he is soooo predictable). I expect he will get next season to impress but he needs a big improvement on where he is right now.

That is my opinion and I am as intitled to it as you are to yours. Pep is a human and was under a tremendous pressure after Decemeber setback. He wanted to avoid any slip up and may have resorted to the players he trusts the most, there is no harm in that as long as it pays off.

That's completely different to what you just said previously.

"Pep might be influenced by the fans" is not at all the same as "Pep might be resorting to players he trusts".

Also don't get precious about your right to have an opinion. You're free to have one just like Flat-earthers and Anti-vaxx nuts, but others are just as free to pass judgement on those opinions.

Yeah but they include the 4th and 5th goals vs Cardiff, the 6th against Shakhtar, the 4th against Burnley, the 7th against Rotherham and the 9th against Burton. Only two goals of any real importance - Spurs and Watford.

That is good context but in the end, I would say it doesn't matter if he'd scored 30 goals if he's still playing so badly that Pep won't use him when we're clearly missing something from the attack.

The way Guardiola is using him shows he's not doing well.

so we could say that about Sergio or Jesus then or sterling. Don't get me wrong he needs to pull his finger out of his arse and become the player we bought him for but he needs a run of games but until he shows city he can do it there's going to be limited chances of that

No one said it was but if those 9 goals was to help win the leauge on goals then that would be fine though I bet. The guy has it in him he's just lost at the min fuck me Jesus was shocking till he started to score again
Disagree Jesus was putting some serious workrate in something that I'd suggest can't be leveled at Mahrez.

Maybe he is being singled out but last night we were desperate for a goal/opening and as a record signing I'd expect him to be brought on, would he have stepped up? Probably not hence I'd suggest Pep left him sat down.
