He’s the new Bravo on here. Made a fuck up in a big game and will never be forgiven.

It’s funny how he’s never singled out for his match winning goals but always criticised for poor team performances.

Leaving to one side the tiresome "haters" argument that gets raised every time anyone ever offers any criticism of a City player on BM, no matter how deserved that criticism might be, if he hasn't been singled out for his "match winning" goals, it's probably because he's barely had any. Other than the ones at Spurs and Bournemouth, his goals have nearly all come in gigantic romps against 'C' list opposition.

1 vs Watford (2-1)
1 vs Burnley (5-0)
2 vs Cardiff (5-0)
1 vs Oxford (3-0)
1 vs Rotherham (7-0)
1 vs Newport (4-1)
1 vs Burton (9-0)

He gets stick because he's one dimensional, doesn't work hard enough, chickens out of tackles like an 8 year old, plays with his head down, and generally slows any attack he's involved in down to a crawl. I know the transfer fee isn't his fault, but thus far he's been a gigantic waste of money

Excellent post Exeter Blue bang on the money with it

It's never good to see a City player getting singled out for criticism , but as you rightly say so far he really hasn't looked like a player who is going to be a " game changer " or one who adds a new dimension to the play. Accepting that he is playing in a totally different situation to his Leicester days, but having a good deal of PL experience, I would have expected him to have made a much bigger impact .

I know that the boo boys won't agree but playing Mahrez was a deliberate tactic against Spurs along with playing Gundogen. The idea was to pack the midfield and slow the game right down. But no mistake had Sergio not scored that pen (which you would have put your house) we would be lapping it up saying what a great result that was. But we now have to go out guns blazing against spurs (minus Kane which was about the only good thing Delph did all game) and finish them off.

Expectations for Mahrez are quite bizarre ,who is supposed to pick out once hes destroyed the full back which he does often enough anyway,he puts in great crosses with his left or can go round the outside and put it in with his right,or he uses his excellent touch and movement to recycle the ball very effectively
and control the tempo as per instructions

Destroyed the fullback? Are you taking the piss? the only thing he destroys is momentum.

Hard to know whats going on with him. Is he scared of messing up or under instruction not to lose the ball? Pep has often said he leaves it up to the player in the last third so I'd be surprised if its instruction to constantly go back. He just looks terrified of doing anything wrong and so does nothing at all. He has the attributes to be a perfect member of a pep team, his touch is fabulous. Hope a seasons experience gives him confidence he needs
