Riyad Mahrez

I doubt Leicester didn't foresee this too. The greedy bastards practically destroyed a man's chance to fulfill his ambition. This is how they repay him for helping them get promotion and win the title. All because they think 50m is not good enough for someone they got for not even 1% of that.

Leicester fans will disagree but this is spot on.

Well it’s started, all the press are currently going big time with their normal hate and ridicule of Mahrez. They’ll be like bees around the honey pot, until they feel that enough damage has been done to him.

In the statement from his advisers, they stated that Mahrez was suffering from depression, after the way his club have acted towards him over the last few windows.

Now if Riyad Mahrez is suffering from depression, which is quite probable. Then surely he should be given space and time to recover in privately, and should under no circumstances be hounded by the media!

Why have his club not come out asking for his and their privacy to be respected!
What are the players union doing to help and preserve his privacy!

Anyone who has suffered or are suffering from depression will know the situation that Riyad finds himself in, irrespective of how much money he has or the job he does. Depression hits hard, and at your most vulnerable times it can be debilitating.

What ever happens in the future will happen, but for now get well soon Riyad Mahrez. And to the media I say please give this guy time to get his head straight, leave him alone!

I think you need to learn the difference between being fuckin gutted and depression (which is a serious medical condition)

How do you know Mahrez doesn't suffer from depression, anyway? It's not as if players are comfortable talking about this stuff. It sounds like he might be a little more than gutted.

Context matters and all the people who don't like what Mahrez is doing now, do they realize he had already kept his head down and continued to play and play well in hopes they would finally let him go? If it's true he asked them to improve their team after winning the league and hoping they continued CL pushes then they defo failed him. All the transfers post title win are gone now and others you would say aren't good enough to continue fighting for top 4. So 1. They failed to add to the squad. 2. If he's worth world record fees, 100k a week isn't enough in wages with respect to that. 3. He didn't kick up too much of a fuss they 3 previous times he asked for a move away. I have no problem with Mahrez going this route like I normally would with players because he's given them his all and he's seen Kante Drinkwater King and others get moved away. They've had longer than 2 weeks to find a replacement for him already.

I can’t see what Leicester hopes to gain here. He has been with them long enough for them to know his personality. If as has been suggested Leicester had already foreseen this turn of events what do they have to gain? I just think once Sané was injured they thought they had us over a barrel, and never forsaw us walking away.

SO....

What are the chances
1) We still want him in Summer?; and
2) He decides to come in Summer?; and
3) Leicester will sanction such a sale?

I'd like to think City wouldn't treat a player in the same way Leicester have treated Mahrez.

If Real Madrid came in with an offer for one of our players and we turned it down there's no way on earth that us City fans would accept the player then downing tools.
We'd think the player was a cnut and rightly so, it's ok for Mahrez to be disappointed but he should now get on with it and be professional.

Honestly I don’t think we would let this situation develop. We would try to get things sorted behind closed doors and spin the deal.

I don't think Pep and City would want anyone at the club who didn't want to be here.
