Riyad Mahrez

What's the update on his situation? Is he back at training?
No hes not back ..

I think both clubs will talk on Saturday before the game .. my guess is that he will force a move with a written agreement before he plays the rest of the season for Leicester!

I know a few people are calling him (Mahrez) out but Leicester didn’t particularly act responsibly asking for £90m - dicking about isn’t going to add to his price tag and will no doubt see Leicester capitulate and sell him in the summer for less than the £90m. Given who his agent is I can see him being on ‘sick leave’ with depression for a few more weeks yet.

This was quoted in the M.E.N...if true, sounds like we might go back in for him over the summer...

City 'talks over Mahrez this week'
Leicester visit the Etihad on Saturday, and the Sun report that they will discuss a summer deal for Riyad Mahrez with City when they do so.

“The club have not closed the door on getting Mahrez, despite what happened on deadline day.

“We’re ready to talk to them when they come here at the weekend, we’ll use that as an opportunity. He has been on the list since last year.

“It could see something put in place now for further down the line. Pep still wants him and is massively keen. “

We should not sign wingers unless they are Neymar, Sanches(!) or Hazard.
Sterling and Sane are young and wc potential. We should not stop their progression. Sterling is outscoring Mahrez. Sane will be a superior player imo.
We need a DM and probably another 9.

The current injury situation is exactly why they need another forward regardless of how good Sterling and Sane are. The best teams reinforce areas of strength.

It isn't his fault he has been priced out of a move.
The market has exploded in the last 8-9 months.
They sold Kante for £30m the same summer he signed his new contract.
No chance any advisor, no matter how good, would have thought at that time Leicester would be demanding £90m for him 18 months later and it almost being the going rate.
This is purely a result of unfortunate circumstances.
Leicester being greedy (which they were within their rights to be) and us not paying it (which we were within our rights to do).
The player then being left unable to do anything about it.

All that being said, I would have loved to have him in the squad, quality player, and want us to go back in the summer at the same value, no more.

They had their chance at 65. Lets let him go on strike for 3 months and bid 45, no more. There are better options for 65.
