Riyad Mahrez

£60m?

He is basically making himself untenable at Leicester currently and if it carries on I think Leicester will lose all of their bargaining power knowing they have to get rid.

£40m we will be going in with in the summer I reckon.

£50m max.
Maybe but their owners don't seem to behave in the usual way. The Leicester fan on here said right from the off that their owners wouldn't accept less than their valuation and that threats of striking would make them dig their heels in. He was shown to be right. Once the window closed and he went on strike, he then then said they'd rather lose him for nothing than give in. Could go either way I would have thought but possible that Mahrez striking could actually make it less likely they compromise in the summer.

At least he won't be able to play against us Saturday now he hasn't trained all week.
That's there best player missing.
C.T.I.D

He won't play for them again. He obviously thinks they've been greedy and done the dirty on him. Those directors will think again in the Summer. What do you reckon, £60m?
That depends on the owners really. I believe he has 2 1/2 years left on his contract? If so, the owners only have to dig their heels in and he'll come crawling back a la Tevez. They may take a pragmatic view to maximise his value this summer but after the way Arsenal played the Suarez/Oezil situation (and came out of it relatively unscathed) nothing surprises me anymore.

This situation does open us up to obscene offers again from utd. It is not a bad thing as such i suppose. If players go there then we know their primary motive currently is a fat wage and not the footy. That may be a bit of a crude generalization but at the core of it that is not wrong. Nor is it bitter, if a player has a chance to play for us or utd then currently if you go to utd it is cash. We offer decent wages but a good chance of serious trophy hauls over the next few years along with progressive dynamic attacking exciting football.

I think Mahrez is at the right age for him to think "this is my time to play at the very top if i can make it". I think he would reject any utd advances even with their mega wages. The summer will be interesting, that much is assured.

I can see why he’s been slated, it’s hard to take pity on someone being paid £50k+ a week for doing something they love.

Maybe there’s a lot more to his reasons then everyone assumes.

I think he a class player and I believe Pep will make him better!
Hope he joins us in the summer

We don't know if he had a gentleman's agreement with the owners, after bids last summer when he wanted to leave. He may also be genuinely depressed and not able to play at the moment.

I know a few people are calling him (Mahrez) out but Leicester didn’t particularly act responsibly asking for £90m - dicking about isn’t going to add to his price tag and will no doubt see Leicester capitulate and sell him in the summer for less than the £90m. Given who his agent is I can see him being on ‘sick leave’ with depression for a few more weeks yet.
We were never expecting to get £90m, I said from day one I think we'd have accepted something around VVD money and all the noises in the local media suggests as much. Come the summer it's a totally different thing, we have time to get a replacement for starters and we're working in the summer market rather than the January market, which is always more costly. An actual money bid of £55m-£65m (not a + player bid) in the summer could get him quite easily presuming he comes back to work after our game.

If he doesn't come back to work, then all bets are off as the owners will be fuming and could want to make him pay.

It's simple, he's pissed because we valued him at £50m in the summer, he was performing excellently and naturally his value and the market went up. Yet he still expected to go for the same valuation.

Can understand the owners fuming but surely they would overcome their displeasure to make a financial deal, or are they not that professional ?
