I’m still not sure why he doesn’t take on people more often ala Sterling, since he’s good at it.

I guess the benefits of drawing two defenders out of position and leaving holes for others to exploit is equally, if not more effective than dribbling past one.

That’s true but you have to admit there are times when Bernardo just seems to slow down our play ever so slightly.

IMO Mahrez is suited for false 9 position even better than Raz, you need a good shot to play it. He seems to have a good sense of space and surroundings, so I think you're spot on. Can see Sane-Mahrez-Sterling trio working well.

But you never know until you try it, initially I thought Sane could play centrally as well. Right now it's quite obvious that he lacks that specific vision to play through the middle.

he isn't the quickest so probably doesn't bet on himself winning the foot-race on the other side. It's more about opening passing corridors and working the yard.
