I'm going off Leicester fans comments there, is it not fair to say it's not been one of his better seasons statistically though? That would be enough bring the price down by most evaluations these days. I did see a couple of games where rather than the menace he usually is, it seemed he was going through the motions for a while.

I'm only going to take the last three league seasons and put in games, goals, and assists.

2017-2018: 36 Games, 12 Goals, and 11Assists
2016-2017: 36 Games, 6 Goals, and 4 Assists
2015-2016: 37 Games, 17 Goals, and 10 Assists (Player of the Season)

I watched his performances closely after we declared our interest and have to say he was one of their most consistent players and never hid. Quite a few posters on Foxes Talk also seemed to acknowledge that, by the end, he'd been a fantastic player for them and that they'd be lucky to ever see a player of that quality in their side again. As I mentioned earlier here, some fans will always seek to paint a player in a bad light once he has decided to move elsewhere, but most reasonable fans would have little to quibble about over his performances.

I admire your attempt to drive the price down, ;-) but he's not had a bad season.

You're only counting the last 3 of 4 seasons? 30 games is plenty enough however you want to spin it.

I already conceded it's not a bad season statistically... but that's only comparative to 14/15 and 16/17 which are not at all impressive, certainly not £50m+ impressive. We will walk and we'll be right to if they go too far over £50m in my opinion.

I have to say some of you are acting weirdly defensive about this... I didn't say I don't rate him or that I don't want him but I do have some perspective so haven't pinned my hopes on one player resulting in me defending them so passionately. There's pros and cons to many of the players we're linked with for that position.

I wasn't being defensive, simply pointing out the statistics for three seasons to demonstrate his ability, though my apologies for posting after you had conceded on that point. There was also considerable managerial change over that period when his side played poorly, so I would anticipate him doing even better with our coaching and our players, should he come.

Couldn't really care less if he or indeed anyone else signs, but I don't think anyone wins POTY without being genuinely good. Some good ones don't even win it. :-)

Until Mendy got injured we were playing 3-5-2. Aguero and Jesus seemed to be getting a great partnership together.
Yes but if we were playing 3 at the back we would have Sane , Sterling and Mahrez , I think any of those 3 could play as a second striker with Aguero or Jesus.

It wasn't looking particularly good when we were playing 352 and we lacked fluidity that we quickly found once we switched to 4 at the back. It wasn't because of anything the 2 strikers were doing wrong but we were far more predictable without Sane and Sterling. Maybe Mendy is a natural wing back but Walker certainly isn't. I'm sure we'll play it a few times next season but I hope it's not our regular formation
