We knew we were pulling out of Sanchez 2 or 3 weeks ago, so would have started looking at alternatives, it was reported that there was a mystery 3rd target, with Fred off until the summer maybe we decided to go all in for the attacking player that's being flexible not panic. Even if we changed emphasis because of Sane doesn't mean Mahrez wasn't targeted a few weeks ago.

That's exactly how it was by the looks of it.

Plus possibly the news that FPP 2.0 might effect the Summer market and prices are just going ever upward.

i hope so, IMO he would be a great option to have very clever player and dangerous in 1 v 1 situations the kinda player pep admires. If it's possible get the deal done!

Zaha was my choice but regardless we need a player of this ilk before the window closes and Mahrez would fit the bill.
