The only opinion part is what relates to Leicester, although we don't expect them to accept a bid today, which is why the bids that are going in aren't progressing in a dramatic fashion. There's a possibility they will ask for us to remove Iheanacho's buyback cause, particularly given how the market has progressed over the last 6 months.

Ok.. thanks for that...

Odds mean fuck all in terms of a transfer's outcome.

Just shows a load of people have put money on it happening since the news broke this morning and thus bookies shorten the odds and protect themselves.

Why are odds always posted as an ITK type indicator?

Cheers for that.. tomorrow should be interesting then..

Is he our alternative to Sanchez?

I am struggling to comprehend that we would target him solely because of an injury to Sane.

Mahrez is an excellent player and would certainly improve our squad which at the end of the day is what we want. Not sure if it will happen but with Leroy out our forward options are limited so a definite yes from me.

If Pep wants him that is the important factor.

It pisses me off to no end. Why can people not understand how betting works? Yes there could be some correlation, but the odds on their own are meaningless.

You mean Neymar deal ; )
No. Neymars was different in the sense that was the release clause figure and neymar is a global superstar in the Messi/Ronaldo bracket and in his prime. Coutinho fee was just taking the piss and that’s gonna fuck everyone now.

Ok, is this the new Sanchez\Isco\Pogba\Hazard thread........?

If we offer less than 60m he will not be a city player.

The reality is that 50m does not buy you much these days so LCFC are within their rights wanting a top price for their star player.

A player is only worth what a buying club is prepared to pay.

Mahrez wanted out last summer but Leicester forced him to stay and despite all the rumours about Arsenal and Liverpool being interested, the only official bid they have received was £30 odd million from Roma.

The fact that Coutinho was vastly overpriced doesn't mean that every player will be.

IMO, Leicester will sell for around £60 million, just look at the Sanchez situation to see how much a club can lose by playing hardball. Whilst I acknowledge that the contract situation between Sanchez and Mahrez are different, how long can a club keep a player against his will and expect top performances?
