Riyad Mahrez

I think it obvious what I was trying to say in your first quoted sentence. I originally typed ‘Are you always this polite...’ but realised that it didn’t make sense and so altered ‘are’ to ‘have’ but didn’t read it all so that’s about the strength of it.

If I’d have known that what I wrote would be under such close scrutiny as a guest I would have put all of my posts through my PA. Apologies.

I think anyone reading my posts and the one quoted above can clearly see who has a problem.

I am unsure whether your forum has an ignore function but if I upset you so badly perhaps you should consider using it?

Kind regards.

Hurting and Denial.

I've absolutely no problem with you,or even your team,(although I still can't believe they weren't drug tested),so for that reason I won't ignore you,but please post a picture of you crying or burning your Mahrez shirt when he leaves, that's all you need to do,as you are hurting or wouldn't of tried to defend all your posts when challenged.

It is good fun,and banter, but it isn't the BBC forum, where we have all seen the I come in peace chat,if I sense you are in denial, which I believe you are I will make my observations known.

I will say fair play for winning the league, although we will never see it happen again will we,but not to sound raggish,it doesn't warrant you to come on here to say your club won't do this and won't do that,as you can probably establish by now,if we want somebody,on our terms of course,we get him.

He's your best player by a mile, and you are on the verge of losing him,so I do understand the frustration you must be feeling, along with your PA,but that's football

Fair enough. I only have one replica shirt as I am 51 and nylon is not my friend (at £50+ to boot).

Not bitter - delighted for him and wish him every success with you.

Replica shirts from bygone eras are the way forward as tops from the 70’s look much cooler than most of the current ‘slight variations’ on one main theme.

One of those ridiculous situations... Leicester are happy to sell, we want to buy, the player is desperate to move, we're not that far apart on price...

Yet stubborness is wasting everyone's time. Could have had him in for pre-season.

The biggest question is how long are gonna put up with Leicester's stubornness until we stand up and just walk away and look for someone else

You would have thought we would have learnt from Sanchez where dragging your heels get you

Probably not the best example to use...

A player that is now on unbelievable wages, struggling for performance and who wouldn’t make it in to our starting 11? I think we might have made exactly the right call on that one

Yeh you’re right, we should just pay whatever everyone asks. That sound strategy Seems to be working really well for United...

This stand-off works for City until such time as Mahrez gets a bit twitchy and worries it might not happen. Then he'll be asking his agent to look for other potential clubs. Txiki's approach is to lock the player into a 'gentleman agreement', make sure they are 100% committed to coming to City thus eliminated competition. If a player renegades on the gentleman's agreement then he'll be deemed not the right type of character to come to City unless he's called Laporte and changes his mind :)

Thing is, Mahrez has made it oh-so-clear that he wants out, at this point. Now Leicester could hold him to his contract, but I'll be truly astonished if he's still with them at the start of the season. So he will be somewhere else. I'd put good money on that. And we're his first port of call.
We need to be patient, and we're right to be patient. The club's handling this very well.

Good point, Tixi is very big on player commitment to City as a starting point. It was reported that before Navas signed for us Tixi grilled him repeatedly about whether he was up for the cold weather, being away from home etc etc. He gave Navas many opportunities to back out of the move as a test. Sanchez wasn't committed in the end as it turned out as his ( his agent's) main motive ended up being $$$ and we didn't even entertain engaging in a bidding war, it was "see you later".
I think it is very sensible approach when you gamble millions on these commodities
