Riyad Mahrez

Not many options out there then sadly
RW market is very very dry. Would be better off playing Bernardo and Mahrez/Foden as full time RWs, and rather buy another midfielder. Personally like Jeremy Doku, but not the type of player Pep wants. With Guler and Kulusevski off the market there’s nothing left really

Yup. City can lose one of Mahrez or Bernardo tops. I mean if City have 80-100m to attract a winger of top level things can change

City have known the price tag for gvardiol for months and still are haggling over 5-10m for no reason. There’s absolutely zero chance that they spunk 80-100m on a winger this summer. They’re arbitrarily cheap as fuck outside of the grealish deal that was completely random.

Grealish will be a one off for us, an anomaly of a transfer fee from our part and unless it's someone of the calibre of Mbappe or Vinicious, I doubt we would do it again.

I could be wrong but I think with Gvardiol, the club are haggling because they know from the first season of Grealish, how hard it is for a player with such a price tag.

It might not be that much in regards to the value but from a pressure point of view, I think there could be quite the difference for Gvardiol if he was to come for us for £86m rather than £100m.

Of course we are we ain’t a charity

Apart from Rodrygo and Saka who’s not leaving, there isn’t even a RW in the 80m+ bracket

If they sell Mahrez for 40 or Bernardo for 80 they’ll definitely spunk 80-100 mil on an attacker

The thing is if Mahrez does go. There's not many wingers on the right wing available that have the qualities pep looks for, for this system Mahrez and Bernardo are the perfect skillset for the system we play. Great technical ability, good in possession don't lose the ball. They also recycle possession well. As well as being a goal threat.

So if Pep continues with this system which it looks like he will do, the replacement would have to work in that system.

They would need to be hardworking, good on the ball , good at recycling possession, great technical ability. To do what we would miss if both Bernardo and Mahrez left. Pace doesn't matter in this system under Pep, being able to keep possession is the big priority.

Do love me some Riyad. Hope he stays personally though wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t given his role in the squad and supposed money being offered.

Remember being desperate to get him when he was at Leicester and he hasn’t disappointed since coming here. Fabulous, fabulous player.

Still a valuable player to have but if there was a choice of either keeping Bernardo Silva or Riyad Mahrez then keeping Bernie (just) shades it.
