One of my friends died from MND. His last years were so awful for him and his family. A terrible illness.
It was a tough watch. Very upsetting.Christ. Already welling up at this thing on BBC1, it's only been on a minute
It was bloody tough but inspirational too. A life cruelly cut short, but what a life. He didn’t stop smiling throughout his illness. Please god through his efforts and those of Doddie Weir and everyone that has raised so much money, medical science gets a handle on this horrible condition. It was a tough watch. Very upsetting.
Terrible disease. RIP Rob Burrow.
I really hope that Kevin Sinfield is made Sir Kevin Sinfield at the next opportunity. Top man.
Rob Burrow urges people not to 'waste a moment' in final message
The speech was recorded for a BBC documentary, with Burrow asking for it to be shared after his death.www.bbc.co.uk
RIP Rob Burrow. Such a brave and dignified man.
With regard to a knighthood for Sinfield, it used to be the case that there was a minimum amount of time needed before someone could receive another award (possibly 3 years). With him receiving his OBE in 2021 & his CBE in 2024, its likely it'll be 2027 before he would be considered for a knighthood.I hope that the King's Birthday Honours this month might give Sinfield his due, and it's hard to think of a better image for rugby league's first knighthood for players.
