Never been a big RL fan (just finals mostly) but saw Kevin Sinfield jogging around Grasscroft/Uppermill area a few times and remember thinking what a supreme athlete he looked.
Then the Rob Burrow story surfaced, what a pair of absolute top blokes, I've watched the story develop, the sadness, the heartbreak, the bravery of these 2 fella's (plus others that were involved).
I attended a MND fundraiser at Ashton golf club earlier this year where Barrie Mcdemott who also played for Leeds was the speaker, he was a friend
of Rob and Kevin, he couldn't speak highly enough about them.
We sometimes throw RIP's around like confetti but in this case it's a huge RIP for Rob and condolences to his family especially with kids so young, their Dad is a hero of the first class variety.
And not forgetting Kevin Sinfield who in my book is a leader the likes of who are rarely seen, a true, inspirational sportsman who has made a great contribution to the MND Charity and also raised awareness of the disease.
RIP Rob Burrow, a million times over.
