Barcelona and Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal that would see Robinho move to the Nou Camp in January.
The Brazil forward is already said to have agreed a four-and-a-half year contract that would match his £160,000 a week Eastlands deal.
All that stands in the way of the £33million transfer is the personal approval of City owner Sheik Mansour, according to Barcelona-based newspaper Sport, which is seen as being close to the European champions.
Robinho has often flattered to deceive since signing from Real Madrid for £34million in September last year. But casting off their original impact signing would be a difficult decision for City's Abu Dhabi owners.
Barca have made no secret of their admiration for Robinho, with technical secretary Txiki Begiristain admitting last week that he was an option for January.
But reports suggest talks between the two clubs have been ongoing for weeks. It is understood Barca made an enquiry about the 25-year-old in the summer when they were trying to strengthen their options down the left.
The Catalans failed in bids for several players and even considered a move for Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin, but appear to have settled on Robinho.
However, the Manchester Evening News report that City are fighting Barca's advances and quote a club 'source' as saying there are no meetings scheduled with the La Liga winners.
