Robbie to Barca done deal apparently ??

The icing on the cake before we even had a cake.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I don't want him to go, but I wouldn't be overly bothered if he did. I think the team would cope fine without him, but you'd have to question what kind of image such a move would project onto the club.

As has already been said, I'd want player/s in return rather than just cash.

All-in-all though, I'd rather he stays with us and we just buy their players as well!!

If we got our money back then i don't see a problem. He is not a Hughes sort of player.Look at all the other forwards...grafters with flair.Robbie is just a flair player.Love him to bits but can see him going either in January or at the end of the season.

Love him to stay and definitely don't lose him in January - see where we are in May. However, think Hughes will let him go - not his sort of player unfortunately, he likes grafters - although RSC seems to look like a bit of a lazy f@ck

Personally, I think the MEN story is a plant. I don't think there's smoke without fire, and I think that City will already have been made aware by Robbie's reps that a move to Barca is unique. They are (outside of our beloved City of course) the best club in the world. History, class, the best footballing side in the world right now. Hand on heart, how do you ask a player to stay when he has the potential to go and play alongside Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Ibra, Henry, et al...

I REALLY don't want him to go - but if he did, he would go with no hard feelings from me. It's not a SWP situation where we knew we were selling our best players knowing we couldn't replace them. I'm sure if Robbie did move, the club would have a plan for who they would want to bring in...

I'd be sad to see him leave, but never felt like he really settled with the English language and culture. He was possibly the most skilful player I have EVER seen in the flesh, but he can anonymous especially in winter. Our game may be that bit too fast for his type of skill.

If he goes, nothing but thanks for me! We would need to secure a Ribery type player to appease me that we are not going backwards.

I very much doubt a deal has been agreed already, as this article suggests - particularly if that deal is 'only' waiting for Sheikh Mansour (the owner of the club, who brought Robbie here as his 'statement of intent' signing) to give it the go ahead. However, that doesn't mean it isn't going to happen. Sounds very much like Barca are getting all the pre-emptive tapping up and unsettling done in readiness for January though.

One thing is for sure - if we do get rid of our marquee signing, the Sheikh will likely want to replace him with another, otherwise this will be perceived as a sign of weakness - that we as a club can't keep hold of our best players, and that we can't handle the genuine stars of the game. I would imagine if we do sanction this deal, we will go all out for someone of Ribery's ilk, to negate the negative press that would follow Robbie leaving us at this point.
